Bodybalance Team-teach

I have finally started on my BB Team-teach. Come to think of it, I probably should have started it much earlier instead of wasting all this time. I was trained in BB back in 2005, even earlier than BC. That was so long ago that I can hardly remember who my coursemates were.

I took 4 tracks for each TT, and so far I have done

2801 - Jesus To A Child (George Michael)
2802 - After All (Delerium)
2803 - Going Under (Evanescence)
2504 - My Immortal (Evanescence)

3205 - Say What You Want (Texas)
3206 - Hope (Twista)
3207 - One Step Too Far (Faithless feat Dido)
3208 - Reach (Gloria Estefan)

Everything has been going smoothly, guess the experience of being on stage helps. No stage-fright, no staring blindly at participants, experience with handling the mic and system has also been useful.

BB is 5 releases ahead of BC, so BB35 is released the same time as BB40. That's easy to remember.

For my first TT, I chose tracks mainly from BB28 because it was a release which made me fall in love with BB. I remember starting out on the program then and thanks to the likes of Haley and Audrey which got me hooked on to the program. I would have chosen 2804 - Diary of Me by R Kelly, another song I love, but I wanted to do another Evanescence track. I love their songs so much.

For my second TT, I simply chose 4 tracks from one release to do. Turned out fine for me.

I know my strengths in teaching LM programs. I am good at remembering choreography, so that is the last of my concerns, and also why I dared to do so many tracks for a first-time TT. One thing though, I do find BB choreo more difficult to remember than BC! Maybe it's cos I do BC so often that everything just comes naturally.

My weakness in BB? Well, Martin says that I can be more 'graceful'. If I were slightly more flexible, it would help alot. And also, I personally find that I need to work a bit on my tone. Should I be more soothing or should I be strong? It's all about finding my BB personality. That will take more time and practice.

Lost my ipod =(

I lost my 30gb ipod video in the gym yesterday. I remember having it with me after conducting the class, but I must have left it somewhere in the changing room.

Called the gym to enquire, but no kind soul returned it. I don't suppose anyone would, especially if the person was a combatter. There's lots of BC stuff in my ipod, tracks from different releases, some DVD clips here and there.

I'm upset that I lost it, but I only have myself to blame. I'm especially upset because my ipod has followed me around for the past 2 years, and I've lots of memories attached to it. My entire BC journey... from those training days to TT to over 300 classes. All those time spent listening to the ipod on trains and buses. =(

It was towards the end of 2005, the ipod 30gb was newly released. I bought it as a birthday present for someone, but I liked it so much that I ended up buying one for myself. It wasn't cheap then, if I remember correctly it cost me more than $500. I had just started work and was still clearing some loans, so I didn't have much spare cash. This was quite an expense back then and it was one of those items I bought for myself, something I didn't really need it as I already had a mp3 player.

I went to Sim Lim Sq to get a replacement ipod today. I bought the 80gb ipod classic, and I didn't feel the excitement I felt when I bought my lost ipod. I bought this one as a need rather than a want. Spent a few hours charging and sorting out my music. I am starting to like it cos it's new and it has improved features, but somehow I still miss my trusty ipod video. I am thankful for the faithful service it has given me all this while.

也许我们的缘份已尽.

Splat Attack

Back in the good old CS days, I've always joined the Counter-Terrorists as I'm more proficient in the M4A1 (Carbine) and the Steyr Aug. Finally, I got to reprise this role, albeit in a slightly different format.

Counter-Terrorists WIN!

It was fun shooting all those paintballs and I'm nursing my blue-black patches from being hit. The masks were stuffy, but the adrenaline kept us going. One has to play it to experience it, especially the split second immediately after being hit... the moment when we really feel stunned...

Bangkok Quarterly Mar 08

Photobucket

I know this is pathetic, but I really have a tendency to procrastinate and not post anything in the end. Thanks to Jitsuko (my BC coursemate for helping us to take the pic and she's not inside!) Junichi, her husband is inside the pic though standing behind me. The rest are FF hardcore members, and the girl in the front is Lisi, who is also my BC coursemate.

To cut a long story short, I went BKK for the March Quarterly. Was a very good experience considering I have gone to the KL workshop before.

I went alone, but I wasn't really alone. The first day was basically spent with Joel (Cali BP/BB instructor), another instructor Adeline, and 2 members Cathelin and Cindy. So we walked around, went for massage, had cheap seafood at Chinatown and then had roadside snacks. We also went to Lumphini boxing stadium to get the boxing gloves.

Went back early as I have to wake up early for Qtrly the next morning. Took a cab all the way there. Met all my friends there and attended the sessions with them.

Attended BC/BJ/BV.

BC35, I had already done this twice in NZ before, so it didn't really give me the excitement.

BJ44 - This was amazing. I was so glad I tried it, really loved the blocks.

BV6 - I thought it was so-so, didn't particularly connect with the music, but I felt the workout.

Was too tired to do the other programs.

I'll be more conscientious with my future updates!
