Sometimes I really wonder if I'm biting off more than I can chew. There are only that many hours a day, and I'm constantly finding myself short of time. Time to do the things I want (like watch the Olympics), time to run my errands, and most importantly, time to rest.
Even as I'm writing this entry, I'm multi-tasking and watching Man Yoo play Newcastle. The new season has started and I reckon my weekends will be occupied catching my favourite sport. I've a good idea to get myself started on a football management game but I'm not sure if I can afford the time.
It's been more than 2 years since I started working 12hr days, but in the past it was 7 to 7, before conducting weekday Combat classes 3 days a week. Now it's 8 plus to 9 plus and I go straight home in a cab. No time to meet my friends for dinner, no time to attend classes, no time to go and buy the stuff that I need.
I'm hoping my little gamble pays off in the longer run. But right now, I'm settling well.
I'm starting to treasure weekends more but time really flies. Half of my Saturday is gone conducting 2 classes, but I have no complaints. I need the workout and I still enjoy doing what I do. Yesterday was a mad rush for me, I had a gathering with my training mates at Orchard, before rushing to TPY to meet the Cancerians and 1 Gemini for our little Crabby dinner.
I guess I must have been really tired, as Jean and WL both mentioned that I looked a bit dazed. I think I probably zoned out. After which, we still went to TCC for desserts.
And even for today, I can't believe that Sunday's over already. I went out for family dinner, and after that did some shopping, including getting myself a new mattress which I've been pushing till now since I got no time.
I've succumbed to the 'spend whatever I feel like' syndrome, which Lynn attributes to me being stressed. I spent about $1k today, but the bulk of it went to the mattress and bringing my family for a nice meal, so that probably won't register as a regular expense.
Had my regular foot massage, a nap, and here we are. End of the weekend.
Another long week beckons. I'm really looking forward to going away for a break. Part of the reason why I chose Auckland over Europe was probably I needed a stress-free holiday where everything is slow-paced. I don't think I'll be able to handle 3 girls on a 2-week Europe trip where we have to visit 4 countries (with many budget air and hostels in between).
