I've just done something silly, somewhat rash. I just booked myself for a trip to Auckland for the filming later this year. I know what Lynn is going to say, I'm under severe stress and I probably will just do anything to seek immediate gratification.
Well, it's not that complex either. I was just surfing the Singapore Airlines website when I thought I'll just spare myself the torture and constant deliberation by just making an immediate booking.
28 Oct (Tue) - SQ285 (SIN-AKL)
04 Nov (Tue) - SQ286 (AKL-SIN)
28 Oct is a date I remember. My first class among many other things. My mind's in a mess, and I haven't figured out where to stay etc, though I'll probably opt for Latitude (www.latitude37.co.nz) again for its proximity, convenience and familiarity.
I was really half deciding between Europe with my friends and going Auckland again, but a couple of things really swung in favour of Auckland. Firstly, the Europe dates sort of clash with my work schedule, and I'll probably have to meet my friends somewhere in the middle of Europe. Secondly, I don't have a full year of leave entitlement to allow me to enjoy a nice long Europe trip. Last but not least, look at where NZDSGD is heading. 0.98 and even lower? I hope it goes lower please. So my trip will be cheaper.
Anyway the air tix already cost me a bomb, $1,984 to be precise. Not to mention accomodation, meals, miscellaneous expenses, but there's definitely a belief within me that money can be earned back, but experiences can't be bought.
I'm not setting my expectations too high after the Global Summit, but I guess I should pursue this while my passion for LM still burns. I've been to Europe before, but I guess a full trip should be done later when I accumulate more finances so I get to enjoy a proper holiday, not those where I need to scrimp and save.
So that means extra effort at the workplace to ensure that this trip is FOC for me. As if I'm not f**king stressed already!
